“Over the past
18 months, EMV as a business were starting to see a sharp
increase in spam emails and found we were spending a great
deal of time sorting through what was real and what was
junk. With such a large number of junk emails being received
on a daily basis, we also felt we were leaving ourselves
exposed to virus attack.
We discussed these concerns with PCCS, who recommended
a trial of their remotely hosted email filtering service.
The results
were obvious immediately and within a few days of going live
with this service, the full extent of the spam problem became
apparent. By using the online management tools we are able
to view the statistics and found that on average we receive
approximately 18,000 spam emails a month, which equates to
80% of total email traffic!
As well as trapping virtually all of our spam emails,
the secure on-line software is used as an extra level of
email
security
with the added benefit of its antivirus features. We still
have the ability to remotely access and monitor all email
traffic if required but as our confidence has grown using
it, we no
longer feel this is necessary.
PCCS have configured a monthly report tailored to our
needs which is emailed to us, allowing us to monitor the
statistics
of spam, virus hits, web use and general email traffic,
all of which are vital these days in protecting a business.
Now we use this system, we no longer have to waste
valuable time sorting and deleting all of the spam received
by
individuals and have the peace of mind that we have
a higher level
of virus protection.”
